About NearIMG

NearIMG is built and run by one independent developer (operating as squareone), not a company with a sales team. It exists because of a simple frustration: resizing or compressing a photo should not require uploading it to a stranger's server. Every tool here — compress, resize, convert, crop, rotate, watermark, redact, GIF, and the rest — runs entirely inside your browser, using your device's own processor.

The privacy claim is enforced by architecture, not by a promise. This site is a set of static pages behind a strict Content-Security-Policy (connect-src 'self'): the browser itself blocks the page from sending your file data anywhere. There is no account, no sign-up and no file storage — and you can verify all of it yourself in your browser's network inspector while you work. Once loaded, the tools even work offline.

Why is it free? Because your files never touch our servers, there are almost no server costs to pass on — a static page costs nearly nothing to host, and your own device does the processing. The remaining costs are covered by advertising that loads only if you explicitly accept it (the Reject button is just as prominent), and by clearly labelled affiliate links. Nothing about your images is ever part of that: they stay on your device, full stop.
