Why edit images without uploading to a server?

Photos, screenshots and scanned documents often contain private details you shouldn't have to upload just to resize or compress them. NearIMG runs the entire process locally in your browser, so nothing is transmitted anywhere.

How it works

  1. Drop images onto the page, paste them with Ctrl+V, or browse — several at once if you like. Each file is decoded right on your device, in a background worker, so the page stays responsive.
  2. Pick a tool from the rail — crop, resize, adjust, watermark, format and more — and watch the canvas preview update as you change settings.
  3. Hit Save. Every image is re-encoded locally by your browser; a single image downloads directly, a batch is packaged into a ZIP on your device.

A detail worth knowing: edits are applied in a fixed order — redaction and crop first, then resize, rotation, flip and colour adjustments, then the watermark, with encoding last — so a watermark is never blurred by a later resize. The quality slider only affects JPG and WebP output; PNG is always lossless. And the ≈ file size shown while you tweak isn't a guess: NearIMG actually re-encodes the image in the background and measures the result.

Is there a file size limit?

Desktop browsers can handle larger images; on mobile we apply a conservative limit to prevent crashes on lower-memory devices.

Do I need to create an account?

No. NearIMG works with zero sign-up, for unlimited use.

Does it work offline?

Once the page is loaded, all processing happens locally in your browser.
