Why add meme captions in your browser instead of a meme-maker site?

A meme generator is a simple tool — bold top and bottom text on an image — that doesn't need a server to justify itself. NearIMG renders the outlined caption directly onto the image using your browser, so the picture you're captioning is never uploaded just to have two lines of text added.

How it works

  1. Drop in an image — a classic template shot, or any photo of your own.
  2. Type the top and/or bottom caption, adjust the text size, and choose whether it's auto-uppercased (the classic style).
  3. Click Save — the outlined captions are drawn onto the image locally and the finished meme downloads.

The captions render in the classic meme look — heavy white letters with a black outline — and are automatically shrunk until they fit the image's width on one line. That auto-fit is worth knowing about: a very long caption keeps shrinking until it fits, so punchy short lines literally read bigger. Each caption is a single line; use the top and bottom slots rather than expecting text to wrap.

Can I use only a top or bottom caption?

Yes — leave either box empty to caption just one side.

Is the classic meme font used?

Yes — bold, outlined uppercase captions in the familiar meme style.

Can I caption a whole batch at once?

Yes — the same top and bottom captions are drawn onto every image in the batch, which is handy for making a consistent series.
