Why resize for social media without uploading to a third-party site?

Getting the exact pixel size for a YouTube thumbnail, Instagram story or profile picture usually means finding a site that has that preset — and giving it your image to get the crop. NearIMG keeps the platform presets built in and does the fill-or-fit cropping on your device, so the source photo stays exactly where it started.

How it works

  1. Pick a platform preset — YouTube thumbnail, Instagram post or story, X header, TikTok, LinkedIn, Pinterest, KakaoTalk profile, Naver blog, OpenGraph, favicon and more. The exact pixel target is shown next to the preset.
  2. Choose how to fit: fill (crop to cover the frame), fit (pad to contain it) or stretch.
  3. Click Resize — the image is rendered at exactly the preset's dimensions on your device and downloads.

Fill is the right default for thumbnails and covers: it scales the image to cover the target and trims the overflow evenly from the edges. Fit never crops — it letterboxes onto a background instead — which suits logos and screenshots where every pixel must stay visible. Stretch forces the exact frame and will distort faces, so treat it as a last resort. Getting the preset dimensions exact matters because anything else gets re-cropped by the platform's own servers, outside your control.
